Speaking at Deer Park Country House Hotel

admin Caribbean Artist, Public Speaking

Last year I was invited as a Speaker at the amazing Deer Park Country House Hotel in Honiton down south. On arrival I remember the first visit travelling down a long leafy drive up to the Grand House. The view is so beautiful, it is a haven of delight.

They also have my paintings in their amazing private collection and it is thrilling to see them hung there for all to enjoy.
My speaking appointment was so successful they invited me again this year though this time it was for me to do a demonstration of my work as a painter.
I chose to paint in oils on canvas as it is my main medium and I decided to paint one of my favourite themes of a west indian woman hanging her silken wraps between the swaying palms on a heavenly sandy beach. Colourful and inviting, made everyone feel they wanted to get on the next plane off to the Caribbean.
When I am painting in front of an audience it is always good to use larger brushes as there is more to show in the 90 minutes demo and all went very well. Of course my painting is not finished by any means but if you keep tabs on my Blog, you will be sure to see the painting finished in due course.
The day ended with question time followed by me signing my new book.
My autobiography ‘My Life on Canvas’  is doing exceptionally well so if you want a copy please do contact me at janice@brock-gallery.com. It is a limited edition and boxes of books are disappearing fast.
